The Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Castes (SC) is a centrally sponsored initiative aimed at supporting SC students studying in Class IX and X across India. It provides financial aid to parents so that their wards can continue their education, minimize drop-out rates especially at the transition from elementary to secondary education, and perform better academically.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam, belonging to the Scheduled Cast (SC) category.
- The scholarship is only for Classes 9 and 10 Students..
- Annual family income must be ₹2.50 lakh or less.
- Applicants must not be receiving any other Govment scholarship for the same academic year
- The student should have a valid account in a Scheduled Bank, linked with Aadhaar and mobile number
Benefits & Allowances
Component I (Class 9 - 10)
- Day scholars: ₹3,500 per annum.
- Hostellers: Two-part allowance—Component 1: ₹7,000.
- Disabled students receive an additional 10% allowance.
Component II (Class 3 –10)
- Day scholars: ₹3,500 per annum.
- Hostellers: ₹8,000 per annum.
- Disabled students get an extra 10% allowance.

- SC certificate issued by competent authority of State.

- Scanned copy of the passport size photograph
How to Apply (Step-by-Step)
- Applications are usually accepted online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
- Register on the NSP Portal using the One-Time Registration (OTR) feature, which includes face authentication
- Log in using your OTR/Aadhar No credentials.
- Select and apply for the “Pre‑Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 9 & 10), Assam.
- Upload required documents
- Submit the application before the Fulfil Details.multiple submissions may lead to disqualification.
