The Assam Pre Matric Scholarship for OBC students (Class 9 to Class 10) for the academic year 2025-26 is offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, and the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Assam. This scholarship provides financial assistance of ₹4,000 per annum to eligible OBC students studying in classes 9 and 10. The applicants must belong to the OBC category, be domiciled in Assam.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a permanent resident of Assam, belonging to the Other Backward Classes(OBC) category.
- The scholarship is only for Classes 9 and 10 Students..
- Annual family income must be ₹2.50 lakh or less.
- Applicants must not be receiving any other Govment scholarship for the same academic year.
- The student should have a valid account in a Scheduled Bank, linked with Aadhaar and mobile number.
- Currently studying in Class 9 or 10 in a government school.
Benefits & Allowances
- The students shall be given a consolidated academic allowance of Rs. 4000/- per annum.

- Applications are usually accepted online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
- Register on the NSP Portal using the One-Time Registration (OTR) feature, which includes face authentication
- Log in using your OTR/Aadhar No credentials.
- Select and apply for the “Pre‑Matric Scholarship for OBC,EBC,DNT Students (Class 9 & 10), Assam.
- Upload required documents
