The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced the recruitment of 4,500 teaching positions for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) schools. The vacancies are distributed as follows:
- Lower Primary (LP) Schools: 2,900 positions for Assistant Teachers.
- Upper Primary (UP) Schools: 1,600 positions, including Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers.

Qualification:
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary School.
Assistant Teacher (UP) --------------- 1600
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
- Graduate from the UGC-recognized University.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
Science Teacher (UP) ---------------
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
- B.Sc. from the UGC recognized University.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or
- Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
Hindi Teacher (UP) --------------------
- Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
- Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from the UGC-recognized University.
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or
- Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
Eligibility Criteria of DEEL UP LP Recruitment
Sex: Both Male and Female candidates are eligible.
Small Family Norms: No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from a single
or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms
1. The Director of Elementary Education, Assam reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment at any state without assigning any reason thereof.
2. The candidates who have passed the ATET/CTET for Lower Primary School will be eligible for applying.
3. Either the Language-l or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply.
4. The Merit List will be separate for each district and category.
5. A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years for unreserved category, 42 years for Ex- Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/ MOBC and 45 years for SC/ST(P)/ST(H) and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD), as on 1st January, 2025.
6. No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from a single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms, the Guidelines contained in the Notification No. ABP.69/2019/17 dated 06/11/2019 and No. ABP.69/2019/18 dated 16/11/2019.
7. The candidate shall submit the declaration at the time of online application as per the provisions contained in the Notification No. ABP.69/2019/17 dated 06/11/2019 and No. ABP.69/2019/18 dated 16/11/2019. The required declaration shall be filled up and signed by the candidates during submission of online application.
8. The eligible candidates shall apply online in the official website of DEE, Assam, i.e. https://dee.assam.gov.in. from 10:00 AM of 15th February, 2025 to 05:00 PM of 31st March, 2025.
9. No offline application will be accepted.
10. The Online Applications and documents submitted by the candidates will be verified with the help of DigiLocker, Govt. of India and by scanning Barcode or QR Code for ensuring genuineness of the uploaded documents as well as by way of back-office verification from the competent board/ council/ authority. But the authority, if desires, may conduct physical document verification at any point of time.
11. The candidate must ensure genuineness of all the information/ documents uploaded against the online application and he/she will be solely responsible for the information/ documents uploaded against his/ her online application as well as document submitted at the time of document verification (if any). Any discrepancy/ misrepresentation of facts/ information will lead to cancellation of the candidature.
12. The candidature will be cancelled forthwith, if any kind of fraudulence/ discrepancy/ misrepresentation of facts/ uploaded by the candidate is detected by appropriate authority at any point of time. The candidate will also be barred from taking part in any Govt. recruitment process in future and subsequent legal action will also be initiated against such candidate.
13. The regular teachers already working in LP Schools under DEE, Assam are not allowed to apply in any posts in LP Schools. 14. A candidate can apply only in one post against one particular ATET/CTET Roll No.
